ByHomeOwner launches globally — a homeowner-first property portal opens in the UK, UAE and India

Today ByHomeOwner opens to the public. From launch, the portal is live in three markets — the United Kingdom, the United Arab Emirates and India — with five more countries scheduled to follow by 2027. It arrives with a deliberately simple proposition: property should be listed and found without a toll at every turn.

The portal brings three audiences onto one platform. Homeowners can list a property to sell or rent directly, keeping the full sale price with no commission deducted. Estate agents can publish unlimited listings for a single flat monthly fee, receiving buyer enquiries straight to their own inbox. Developers can showcase entire schemes — galleries, floor plans, brochures and phased availability — and reach investors across borders.

Why now

The established portals have spent two decades becoming essential and, in the process, expensive. Agents pay to appear, then frequently pay again for the leads their own listings generate. Developers hand over a slice of every reservation. Homeowners who would rather sell privately have had few credible places to do it. ByHomeOwner was built around a different assumption: that reach and tooling can be offered at a predictable price, and that the relationship between a buyer and a seller does not need a paid intermediary standing in the middle of it.

"Every group we spoke to described the same frustration in different words," said a spokesperson for the company. "Owners felt they were paying for a signboard. Agents felt they were renting back their own customers. Developers felt they were being taxed on their own sales. We wanted to remove the toll and keep the reach."

What launch looks like

At go-live the platform carries only genuine, published listings — no inflated inventory or placeholder stock. Each market has its own currency, search filters and local regulatory context. A listing in Dubai can be shown, priced in the viewer's currency, to a buyer browsing from London or Bengaluru, which the company sees as central to the value it offers developers and agents with internationally minded stock.

Trust is handled through verification rather than volume. Agents and developers pass a compliance check against the relevant local regulator — RICS or ARLA in the UK, RERA in the UAE, and the applicable state RERA in India — and earn a verified badge that appears on every listing they publish.

The road to 2027

The three launch markets were chosen for their appetite for cross-border property and their large, mobile buyer populations. Five further markets are planned by 2027, with waitlists already open so that agents and developers in those countries can register interest ahead of time.

The company is candid that a marketplace is only as strong as its earliest members. Its first cohort of homeowners, agents and developers will help shape pricing, tooling and the verification process before the platform scales. In the meantime, sample testimonials on the site are clearly labelled as placeholders and will be replaced with verified quotes as real customers complete their journeys.

For homeowners, the pitch is the cleanest of all: list your property directly, reach real buyers, and keep what your home is worth. For agents and developers, it is a portal that treats reach as a service to be bought fairly — not a gate to be paid at twice.
